Police have detained a man they believe broke into several student houses on East Fifth and Webster streets, according to a May 4 article in the Morning Call.
Hipolito Vasquez Jr., 24, of Bethlehem has been charged with burglary and various other charges and is being held at Northampton County Prison, according to the article. The charges stem from at least three break-ins.
Police are still seeking another suspect but have decline to identify him, according to the article. Police said in addition to robbery, Vasquez and the other man vandalized houses with food items such as chocolate syrup and pudding. On May 1, they wrote "LHU Suckes" on the wall of one house in spray paint and sprayed obscenities on another wall, according to the article.
According to a May 4 article in the Express-Times, Vasquez has denied involvement in a similar string of robberies in March where student houses were robbed and vandalized over spring break. Food was also used to vandalize those houses, according to past Brown and White reports.
