It's time to get out of your Family Weekend-induced comfort zone - International Week has finally arrived.
Granted, Lehigh doesn't have as many international students as many other universities, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't host a diverse international community. Who would have thought that a relatively small university like Lehigh could have one of the top International Weeks in the nation? We definitely didn't.
If you've always dreamed of backpacking around the world, but simply can't afford it, then this is the perfect opportunity to reach every dream destination without ever having to go through customs. Literally, broaden your horizons.
If you do plan on traveling, then get in line to get your passport this Friday - avoid long waits at the post office at all costs.
International Week includes more than 30 events, so there has to be something that piques your interest. Why not attend the Dance-A-Thon on Saturday instead of spending hours going from one dance party to the next dance party on the Hill, where you may stumble walking in those sky-high heels or may be denied access?
Miss that incredible semester in Argentina or in a particular Latin country? Take the tango class or learn how to salsa.
If dancing is not your thing, that's OK. Eating doesn't require talent-just an open mind and an empty stomach-so take part in Diwali this Sunday and spice up your life with some Indian cuisine.
Around 35 clubs and departments have sacrificed time and energy to bring their heritages to American soil. In the theme of Thanksgiving, welcome the unknown.
